Holly Jolly Blog Tour Week 3 - Meet Ann Tracy Marr

Blog buddy Ann Tracy Marr writes paranormal Regency romances. She may pretend to be a Christmas bah humbugger, but if she had $150,000 floating around, she would give the twelve gifts of Christmas as prizes for following this blog tour. (She would keep the ten lords a'leaping for herself.)  Anyone up for French hens?

Leave a comment, answer one of our questions for yourself and be entered in out contest for a $50 Amazon gift card.

Which charity is most deserving of your holiday generosity and why?

Pick the Red Cross to donate money. Everyone knows of them; no one thinks they are a waste of money. Just don't hogtie the charity by saying what they have to spend the money on. By law charities have to push the money where you say it should go, but what if they have more than enough for that cause already? Slightly worn goods from my house always go to the Salvation Army. They sell them in their thrift stores and put the money to good use.

What is your favorite holiday tradition in literature?

We all do my favorite tradition one way or another. We buy presents, as the Bible says is proper.

Matthew 2:11  And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

  2. I agree, the presents are a fun part of the season. One of the fun things we do is on Christmas Day, someone hosts a dinner and everyone brings a $10 gift for our 'secret santa'. The gift can be anyting from very nice to crazy. Once a gift is opened, it can be 'stolen' twice before it is retired. Some gifts make it back year after year. One year as a gag I brought two of those knitted ski caps with the log ear flaps. Turns out my nephew loved them and still uses them when he goes skiing. You can imagine the laughs we share during this crazy gift exchange. Thanks for the reminder that I have to shop for what I'll bring to the festivities this year.

  3. Sharon--we do the same Secret Santa. Always fun!

And yes--Red Cross is an excellent choice. As I mentioned in my guest blog, the gift of life--a blood donation, is something money can't duplicate and so very needed at this time of year in particular.

    Happy holidays all!

  4. Enjoyed reading the comments. I am an animal lover so I donate to the local animal shelters during the year. I have 3 dogs so I can't rescue more but I do help care for them

  5. Yeah, blood is needed. My dad had to have a couple of blood transfusions last year. He had surgery for colon cancer. He's doing fine now. At the bank a few weeks ago he was given $50 by a Secret Santa.

Favorite charities are animal ones such as North Shore Animal League and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
